Junior Wastewater Plant Operator

An established industrial facility is seeking a Junior Wastewater Plant Operator to support daily wastewater treatment operations. This role is ideal for individuals with at least 1 year of experience in wastewater treatment, chemical handling, industrial operations, or environmental services. The successful candidate will assist with the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater generated from electroplating and industrial processes while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems and related process equipment.
  • Perform routine plant operations including pumping tanks, transferring liquids, and adding treatment chemicals.
  • Collect samples and conduct basic testing to monitor treatment performance.
  • Inspect equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and identify potential issues.
  • Safely handle, store, and transport chemicals while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Operate a forklift to move chemicals, containers, equipment, and materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping duties.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives and adhere to company safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with plant personnel to maintain efficient and reliable wastewater treatment operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in wastewater treatment, chemical processing, industrial operations, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes, chemistry, and environmental regulations.
  • Valid forklift license with experience operating a forklift in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous materials and follow established safety protocols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks, lifting materials, and working in an industrial setting.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
